Loose leaf tea of organic yarrow and org. peppermint tea and 48 capsules of org. Bhumyamalaki (also known as chanca piedra). The capsules should be taken after two meals each day. The tea should be drunk before each meal.

Please specify if you would like the Ayurvedic diet for gall stones or kidney stones and we will also send that.

Bhumyamalaki acts to cleanse, detoxify and strengthen this essential organ. It also supports proper function of the gall bladder and promotes healthy skin. An excellent herb for both pitta and kapha. This is the classic Ayurvedic herb for the liver.

The aboriginal people of the Amazon used Chanca Piedra (bhumyamalaki), to treat kidney and gall stones so it is called "stonebreaker". It has many soothing properties, particularly for the digestive system, and it is recommended to take on a full stomach. It is also used as a remedy for vaginitis caused by candida albicans in many parts of the world.

"A clinical study with Bhumyamalaki indicated that it may reduce the levels of urinary calcium. A subsequent study of 150 patients over a 6 month period indicated that an extract of this herb reduces the incidence of stone formation...  A more recent rat study found that Bhumyamalaki has been shown to interfere with many stages of stone formation, reducing crystals aggregation, modifying their structure and composition as well as altering the interaction of the crystals with tubular cells leading to reduced subsequent endocytosis". Boim MA, Heilberg IP, Schor N. (December 2010). "Phyllanthus niruri as a promising alternative treatment for nephrolithiasis". Int Braz J Urol. 36 (6): 657–64. Do not use while pregnant, with Insulin, with diuretics, or with heart medications.

Bhumyamalaki is one of the ancient Ayurvedic herbs of the plant Phyllantus amarus. In some countries, it is also known as chanca piedra, carry me seed, or stonebreaker. Bhumyamalaki is being used as an herbal solution in every region, where it grows. Various studies have shown promising results in treating modern diseases and ailments that still plague many underdeveloped countries in the world.

In the past few years, Bhumyamalaki has gained the attention of researchers from all around the world due to its hepatprotective activity.  The clinical research has shown the efficacy of the herb Bhumyamalaki for treating viral Hepatitis B.

In the year 1990, Sao Paulo’s, ‘Paulista School of Medicine’ carried out studies on rats and humans with kidney stones. A decoction of the herb was given for 1 to 3 months and it was established that the herbal tea promoted the removal of kidney stones. There was also an increase in the creatine and sodium excretion and urine output. In the same year, Nicole Maxwell reported that Germany’s Dr. Wolfram Wiemann treated about 100 patients suffering from kidney stones with Bhumyamalaki obtained from Peru. It was found that the treatment was 94% successful in expelling the kidney stones in a short duration of one or two weeks.

In an in-vitro clinical study conducted in the year 1999, the extract of bhumyamalaki exhibited its ability to obstruct the creation of calcium-oxalate crystals, which are the building-blocks of kidney stones. This shows that the herb can be an effective preventative aid for those, who have a history of the ailment.

 Yarrow and Peppermint Tea

Twenty tea bags of organic yarrow and org. peppermint tea. Peppermint can bring rapid relief from stomach and intestinal cramps with gas and diarrhea. Peppermint tea promotes the production of bile flow and lessens the pain of an acute gallbladder attack. You can buy only peppermint in twenty tea bags for this price, but you must write that when you pay for it.

Yarrow also has antiseptic action against bacteria. The bitter constituents and fatty acids in yarrow are credited with promoting bile flow from the gallbladder, an action known as a cholagogue effect. Free-flowing bile enhances digestion and elimination and helps prevent gallstone formation. Because of these anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, and cholagogue actions, yarrow is useful for gallbladder complaints and is considered a digestive tonic.

Yarrow is often used in herbal remedies designed to treat heavy bleeding from menstrual periods or bleeding ulcers. It has been used in Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicine to balance the spleen, liver, kidney, and bladder meridians. Several studies have shown that yarrow can improve uterine tone, which may increase menstrual blood flow when it is irregular or scanty, and reduce uterine spasms, which reduces heavy flow in cases of abnormally heavy menstrual flow.

In addition to its antispasmodic activity, the herb contains salicylic acid (a compound like the active ingredient in aspirin) and a volatile oil with anti-inflammatory properties, making it useful to relieve pain associated with gynecologic conditions, digestive disorders, and other conditions.
