Dear Relations,
We are honored to convey the ancient healing traditions of the Maya, Naga Maya and the Peruvian Laika through the system of curanderismo. You will develop the intuitive abilities of the healer and gain the knowledge of thousands of years of human interaction with plants, food, ceremony and prayer. We emphasize the cultures, language and traditions of these cultures we have studied with and pass this on with appreciation and respect. After you read through this description, if you feel this might be a good path for you, please give us a call and we can give you more details and answer any questions you may have. Speaking on the phone with our Maestra or Maestro is required before registering for the apprenticeship.

Those younger than 30 years are discouraged from participating in the Escuela.
We welcome people of all genders, skin colors, religions or no religion. This is a path of greater connection and respect. The Escuela follows the traditional Medicine Wheel. This is a summary of the energies and lessons in each direction of the Wheel. We meet in a different "direction" each gathering.

South
After a brief history of the traditions informing curanderismo and Ayurveda, we will practice shamanic journeying, fire ceremony, opening sacred directions, developing intuition, physical exercises and meditations for mental balance, connecting with the Spirit of Water and many other techniques. Each person receives the Ayurvedic diet right for their constitution.
You begin to build your Mesa, an altar to your personal healing, which becomes the medicine bundle you will use to work on yourself and with clients. We learn to find balance through the elements and Nature, journey to meet our power animals, practice ancient techniques to see into the luminous energy field, shed the old stories that keep us bound to ordinary reality. We’ll collect knowledge to make our health span equal our lifespan with the wisdom of Ayurveda, yogic exercises and Curanderismo. We’ll practice flexibility and cultivating healthy sexual energy with kundalini yoga in the mornings.
Studying the digestion, we come to understand how it functions as the foundation of our health, what lifestyle, diet, plant medicine, and exercises can bring it into balance. This knowledge helps you heal others with digestive issues. We'll wildcraft local herbs and learn to bring with us the spirit of the plants as well as the physical components.
Adopting the perspective of the curandera we walk with beauty in the world, realizing that discipline is the highest form of self love.
West
These are the practical tools that the shamans of old discovered for living an enlightened life. Genetic and karmic patterns will be identified and cast off. Opinions and emotions will no longer influence us. We'll study infectious disease and emergency medical situations, how to treat them and make some plant medicine for ourselves. Making our own medical kit we move toward our preparations to serve our community. We will practice different kinds of Limpias.
Moving the assemblage point will allow us to track or “see” phenomena on the physical, emotional, mythic and energetic levels. We will create more shamanic tools to dispel heavy energy. Leaving behind the habits of the violent warrior, we step into the ethics of the luminous warrior. We will meet our Spirit guides in the etheric realm.
North
“You move onto the North class after clearing your personal and genetic and karmic stores in the South and West gatherings. In the North, you release the roles that you identify with in this life. You learn to release ego and take your place in a lineage of medicine men and women who live outside of time. You connect to your soul’s calling” Alberto Villoldo. We will study how to heal imbalances of our organs, and circulatory system.
Practicing the ancient techniques to step outside of time we remember our connection to the mountains, stars and the stone circles. We will participate in exercises to come into right relation with our ancestors. Stepping outside of linear time and into sacred time we can heal the past and chart new destinies. Our celestial parents await us.
Our prayers for healing the Earth will take the form of a despacho and an apacheta.
East
Spreading our wings as the Eagle and the Condor we soar with the Great Spirit. From a higher perspective we realize our connection to the whole. We will gain tools for the optimal function of the nervous sytem and brain. Strengthening the nervous system we can hold the states of shamanic ecstasy through our meditative practices.
You will learn the Great Death Rites and the art of Dying Consciously – being fully aware and awake when we die. By experiencing the elements of the dying process we can help others transcend with grace and dignity. You'll practice releasing souls stuck on the Earth and the Casa de Limpia. You'll be able to share "The Rite of the Womb" with your community.
