This is a traditional Ayurvedic formula used in the treatment of Low-Thyroid, PCOS and growths such as lipoma. It detoxifies the body while removing excess Kapha from the body. It encourages healthy elimination of toxins without aggravating the digestive fire in the body. Hence Kanchnar Guggulu is beneficial in tumors, growths and adhesions, fistula in-ano and menstrual disorders. It can help weight loss when it is caused by low thyroid, clearing out the fluid retention in the body and also by regulating the hormones. Researchers say that it can also reduce cholesterol levels.
Do not take this with other thyroid medications, with dessicated thyroid or iodine. Doing this may cause hyper-thyroid. Begin by taking only one capsule a day. If you've taken any of the drugs for low-thyroid you may have to take two a day. Over a period of months you should find that you need to take less of it. Drugs, dessicated thyroid or iodine used to relieve the symptoms of low-thyroid, atrophy the thyroid so that you may become dependant on them for life.

Kanchnar guggulu is a compound Ayurvedic formulation used in clinical practice for the treatment of benign and malignant tumors. The present study investigates its cytotoxic and antiproliferative activities.
