Contains 96 capsules of organic herbs: Bhringaraj, Amla, Centalla Asiatica and Hibiscus flower.
This is the Ayurvedic formula for hair growth. What follows are western studies that confirm this use.
Bhringaraj or Eclipta alba is traditionally used in Ayurveda to potentiate hair growth promotion.
AIM OF THE STUDY:The study was aimed to investigate the efficacy of methanol extract of Eclipta alba as hair growth promoter.
MATERIALS AND METHODS:Pigmented C57/BL6 mice, preselected for their telogen phase of hair growth were used. In these species, the truncal epidermis lacks melanin-producing melanocytes and melanin production is strictly coupled to anagen phase of hair growth. The extract was applied topically to assess telogen to anagen transition. Immunohistochemical investigation was performed to analyze antigen specificity. Animals in anagen phase of hair growth were positive for FGF-7 and Shh and negative for BMP4, whereas the animals in telogen phase were positive only for BMP4 antigen.
CONCLUSION:These findings suggest that methanol extract of Eclipta alba may have potential as a hair growth promoter.
"In a rather rare study, Adhirajan et al. tested the effects of two Hibiscus rosa-sinensis extracts, one made from leaves and one from flowers, on albino rats.
Hibiscus Flower. "The extract was made by drying and powdering leaves and flowers of the plant, extracting them with petroleum ether and then mixing a gram of the extract in 100 ml of liquid paraffin. This produced the 1% active compound, which was topically applied on the backs of shaved mice.
Results
... the hair growth cycles of the rats treated with the extract were significantly different from those in the control group. After 30 days, the anagen/telogen ratio of hair follicles was 50/50 in the control group, 54/46 in the placebo group, 60/40 in the flower extract group, and 67/33 in the leaf extract group."
Amla Abstract
Objective: To assess the ability of an oral supplement to increase hair growth in women with thinning hair. Design: A randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind study. Setting: One United States clinical site. Participants: Healthy women aged 21 to 75 years with Fitzpatrick I to IV photo skin types with self-perceived thinning hair. Conclusion: The daily administration of a proprietary nutritional supplement significantly increased hair growth after 90 and 180 days. Self-perceived improvements after 90 days were increased after 180 days of additional treatment, suggesting continued improvements may occur with ongoing treatment. No adverse events were reported. These results may represent the first description of increased hair growth in women associated with the use of a nutritional supplement. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3509882/
Centella Asiatica
There are various properties of the Gotu Kola plant that serve to address underlying issues causing hair loss, or thinning hair. The benefits of numerous all-natural herbal preparations made with Gotu Kola range from stress reduction to actual stimulation of hair growth.
In a study published by the Indian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Gotu Kola is postulated as having positive effects on issues of venous insufficiency.
The potential for Gotu Kola to maintain connective tissue and strengthen weakened veins may have a positive impact on the health of the hair follicle.
The health of the venous system and capillaries that supply the hair follicles with oxygenated blood. With adequate oxygen, hair growth is unable to sustain normal and healthy growth.
