The Laws of Nature
The Code of every fractal
Written in chromosomes, from tapir to pterodactyl,
Silently repeated by every creature hoofed,
Whispered endlessly in leafy boughs aloft,
Spinning spirits of the waterfall,
Maintain equilibrium by its call.
In the pattern of the dancing fire,
Whether lit for warmth or funeral pyre
In frothy wind, or blood congealed--
The Divine Law of Nature is revealed.
Ancient light of galaxies, traveling a millennium
Illumines the mystery of our origin.
Throbbing signals of black holes
Transmit echoes of the Word, so long untold.
Exploding stars bestow their rich and complex essence
Into amniotic space, gestating solar systems.
Created of their light and sound and dust
From such as these—at last we must
Read the unwritten Law in our own heart
To sing with our eyes the unstruck Music.
